Installation of Solar Rooftop, Mitigating Global Warming to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals, Using College Funds of 3 Million Baht
On 3rd October 2023 at the Buddhapaṇṇa Room, International Buddhist Studies College, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, the Most Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Medhivajarapundit(Hansa Dhammahaso) Director of IBSC, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Konit Sritong IBSC Voice Directm,Phramaha Sriton Samaccharo Voice-Director of the Library and Information Technology Office, Mr. Prasert Khamnuan Voice Director of Student Affairs, and the supplier team (the e-bidding winner tender), launch the IBSC Installation of Solar Rooftop project.
The project provides a power generation capacity of 91,000 watts. It will support the works of IBSC staff and students in teaching and learning activities, research, academic services, seminars, and various training programs during daytime hours. There will be a plan to install storage batteries in the future to support electricity usage during nighttime hours.
This project not only helps reduce the university’s overall expenses but also addresses global warming by utilizing clean energy in line with the Green College development policy in accordance with EdPEx Criteria (1.2), and aligns with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
The development of this project used funds from the college’s own budget, totaling 3,000,000 Baht, which is allocated from educational management and the college’s fund.
